In the June 5th 2020 Hodinkee.com online watch magazine featured one of our watches which was listed on this site, E-Bay and Ruby Lane. The article was written by Isaac Wingold. Following the publication the watch was quickly sold on Ebay to a very nice and knowledgeable collector in Chicago.

This week, we’re leaning into the less obvious. With picks like a Pullman-sized Ermeto and a minuscule ladies chronograph, there’s all sorts of otherness going on, all of which is complemented nicely by a strictly mint Zenith chronograph. Condition-obsessed collectors will also appreciate the full-set, near-new old stock Super Autavia. And, just because we couldn’t resist, we’ve got a tropical dial Ed White Speedmaster. There’s a lot to love this week, so let’s jump in.

I contacted this firm, Igor, with the intent of creating a custom watch buckle so I could adapt it to different watch straps but keep the watches unique features. He did not disappoint!
Be aware he does a lot of watch sales on eBay, custom buckles, and more. This firm does not accept credit cards, only bank or US Post Office drafts.
Overall experience is excellent, highly recommend!

For probably eight years now I’ve known of Igor’s work as an incredibly talented goldsmith who manufactures custom solid gold deployants and buckles that are, in my opinion, typically better than that of the major high-end swiss manufacturers. I have owned a number of them over the years.
Recently my Jaeger LeCoultre 18K rose gold deployant broke badly with a gold screw sheared and lodged deeply within a very small tube. After asking three separate sources if they could repair and being told “No” (slowly and unsympathetically as jewelers often do for things beyond their comfort zone), I thought that perhaps I would contact Igor (afinewatch). I remembered he was a great designer of deployants and buckles and thought perhaps he’d be willing to repair one. Igor was extremely helpful and responsive.
I sent him pictures and he responded telling me he could fix it for a very reasonable price– a ** fraction ** of the cost it would be to replace the deployant. I sent it to Igor and he had it back to me repaired better than new (it closes tighter now) in less than two weeks.
Thanks again to Igor for a fantastic job!
I FINALLY got a custom-made deployant buckle from Igor, 18K WG with my choice of engraving, and I was THRILLED with the result — prompt, honest, courteous service. I recommend him without reservation.
