What a terrific watch this is!!.
A wolf in sheep’s clothing.
The watch was produced through a direct manufacturing collaboration between Gucci Timepieces and the Sowind Group (the parent manufacturing company of Girard-Perregaux)
The release year was highly intentional. Gucci produced exactly 93 pieces of the 18K gold variant to celebrate the 93rd anniversary of the Gucci fashion house, which was originally founded in Florence in 1921.
This example is number 2 out of 93 made!!
The BIG case measures 45 mm across, 48 mm if one includes the crown guards.
The case is 53.2 mm long and 14.2 mm thick.
The case is made of stainless steel with PVD coating and the sides are solid 18K rose gold!
The bezel is unidirectional with a ceramic bezel insert.
Screw in crown and screw in case back for a 30 ATM rating.
Black dial with rose gold framed baton hour markers with luminous material.
Rose gold hands.
Quick set date aperture at 1:30.
Power reserve of 46 hours indicated below center.
Inside you find a Girard Perregaux automatic movement cal. 3300.
This watch was issued with 2 straps and 2 deployants.
Black alligator leather strap with a deployant which has 18K rose gold pieces on each side.
Black rubber strap with all black deployant.
In one of the picks you see a pointed non metalic tool which is to be used to change the straps easily.
This watch comes with an original heavy GUCCI box.
When this watch was 1st offered to the public, it carried a price of $12,000.
This was when the price of gold was about a tenth of what it is today.
