Rare Baume & Mercier Baumatic ref. 3183 in 18K yellow gold case.
The case is very reminiscent of Rolex Date and is quite heavy.
Unlike the Rolex Date this watch is much thinner due to the much thinner micro rotor movement cal. 13210.
The case measures 34 mm across by 40 mm long.
The watch has an original champagne color dial with gold button hour markers.
Date aperture at 3 o’clock with magnifying lens on the underside of the crystal!
The original acrylic crystal is in good condition, a few minor scratches.
Original Baume Mercier crown with a small 6 point star in the center.
The case has beefy lugs and a screw back case cover.
There are some scratches and nicks on the back cover.
There are 2 hallmarks on the back of 2 lugs and the watch is also hallmarked on the onside of the case cover.
The watch was serviced in August 2023 and is running and keeping a good time.

The leather strap is N.O.S. genuine crocodile made in Italy.
You will not find many offered for sale anywhere on the Internet. From a couple of feet away most who know watches would assume it is a gold Rolex.
Difference is in rarity between these two models.
Also this model is less expensive to service and parts are more available as this movement is compatible with Buren cal.1280.
