Vintage Heuer Autavia Chronograph 1163 Siffert
Vintage Heuer Autavia model 1163 with the white so called Siffert dial is a dream watch for Heuer collectors. If you search the Internet you will find that the prices for average condition examples are running about $9000. About $1000 more with the original box as you see here. This watch offered here is however quite uncommon. All of the Heuer Autavia models I have seen so far have SWISS printed on the dial above the date window. This one does not!! It makes it a VERY RARE example indeed. This dial is classified as MK 3. Model number 1163 on one side of the case and a serial number which starts with 141 on the other side. There is also a hand engraved number on the edge of the case back. It starts with CP198. Cal. 11 automatic movement is running well but will undergo an overhaul soon. Case back is signed HEUER LEONIDAS S.A. SWISS and STAINLESS STEEL below. There is only one watchmaker’s mark and the date is 05 I assume 2005. The watch is all original in our opinion!!! A treasure to posses.
