This is a beautiful 1970s diving chronograph from a private label Jacques Monnat, a company established in New York. Basically it is an Ollech & Wajs case reference 2003 with a Valjoux 72 chronograph movement and a dial, crystal, hands and bezel obtained from other companies and put together by Jacques Monnat. So you will most likely not find two that are exactly the same. Those you do find have usually a 17 jewels movement. This one has the famed Valjoux 72 movement. Much more expensive!!
The watch is in great condition. The dial is absolutely beautiful. Signed Jacques Monnat with the following print bellow: 17 RUBIS INCABLOC WATERPROOF 20 ATM and T SWISS MADE T at the very bottom. The dial is a kind of a milk chocolate brown in color with most of the print in white and Kilometers distance in pink. The luminous material on the hour markers is light green and some flaked off from 4, 8 and 10 o’clock markers. The bi directional bezel turns both ways. The blue insert is Bakelite with light green hour markers. The case appears to never have been polished. The crown screws in as does the case back. This watch was serviced in May 2015. Priced at $5500. Make Offer Text 702 526 8524
