Carrera Y Carrera, Tempus Fugyt Chronograph
Carrera Y Carrera is a Spanish jewelry manufacturer of quite a renown. This watch was designed by this firm and manufactured in Switzerland.
The case measures 38.7 mm across. length is 47.6 mm. Thickness is 12.5 mm. The watch is numbered 0264.
The dial is is quite unusual in it’s layout and has a very modern graphic feel to it. The dial is stepped with each side showing the numerals being higher than the center. The numerals are also elevated above the surrounding surface.
The case has a feel of a solid block of steel that is just so very slightly curved. The heavy lugs seem to be attached to the rectangle of the case with screws but I do not know whether they are made to be removed for any reason.
The screw in crown and the chronograph pushers are covered with some kind of plastic material and show C y C. The back cover is screwed in with 8 screws and has an exhibition back to allow viewing the movement.
The movement is made by ETA and it is caliber 2094 with 33 jewels. The crystal is in a very good condition. The case has a few small dings.The watch is keeping good time and all functions work properly.
The leather strap shows some use but is in good condition and will fit a 8.5 inch wrist comfortably. The desired length can be adjusted at the deployant clasp. Priced at $1750.
