Beautiful and RARE octagonal shaped platinum cased Longines cal. 11.87M
The watch weighs 66.1 grams as you see in the pictures. With the movement removed the weight is 41.5 grams.
The case is stamped on the inside of the case cover with PLATINE PUR and there are also a couple
of hallmarks. We had the case tested with a spectrometer and it tests 95% pure platinum.
The case measures 47.1 mm across by 59.6 mm from bottom to top of bail, 43.8 mm from flat side to side.
The estimated value of platinum alone is close to $2000. In addition to unique shaped platinum case
this watch has an original dial made out of silver !! It checks out to be close to 0.925 pure silver.
This obviously was not a piece made in many examples but most likely made on a limited basis.
The case back has an interesting design which is hand chased and hand engraved.
