Offered here a very beautiful antique hard stone cameo set in an 18K yellow gold frame. This pendant/brooch combination piece is also accented with 6 half pearl setting, with one pearl currently missing. There is also some black enameling. The cameo is artfully carved using 3 layers of stone. Most cameos you find are carved out of a shell which is somewhat softer material to carve. Also since they are from shell they are curved on the back side and also thinner and more fragile. Not so with hard stone cameos. This stone is very artfully carved and set in a very intricate fabricated 18K gold frame.
There is a small area where the enamel has chipped off.
The piece measures aprox. 1.5 inches wide by 1.95 inches high.
The pearls are approx. 3 mm in diameter.
The piece weighs 22.7 grams.
