Offered here a vintage 14K white gold ring set with an oval, light slightly grayish, violetish blue star sapphire of approx. 11.64 carats.
The 12.9 mm by 10.8 mm x 10.0 mm x 8.7 mm star sapphire is flush set into a heavy 14K white and yellow gold ring. It is cast in 14K white gold and has an applied 14K yellow gold bezel and 4 bars running down to the opening. These form a continuation of the 4 star rays. The star has a M2 clarity ( moderately included ).
The sapphire is of a very good quality. Good proportions and good finish.
The ring is cast with a bark finish on the sides. It weighs 18.1 grams and is size 8.
There is a pear shaped diamond set on each side of the ring. These are about 0.18 ct. to 0.20 ct each. Clarity VS1 & SI2 color I-K , good proportions good finish.
The ring is stamped 14K. It is 16.4 mm wide on top and tapers to 5.2 mm at the bottom of shank.
We have a Market Value Appraisal done by Richard C. Huntington – Master Gemologist Appraiser for $6200. Insurance appraisal may be up to 30% higher !!
