Offered here seldom seen Fred of Pris watch in an 18K gold case.
This is a gents watch that has quite a presence on the wrist.
It is of a geometric and simple clean lines design.
The case measures 24 mm across by 34.5 mm long and 8.22 mm thick.
The case is very well made and is quite heavy weighing 44.7 grams.
It is made out of a solid piece of gold with machined out space for the
movement and case back.
Case back is held in place by four 18K gold white gold screws.
White dial with 4 quadrants is signed FRED and SWISS at the bottom.
The dial has a small stain in the center which may be able to be removed
once the watch goes for service.
The watch is running fine on it’s original jeweled quartz ETA movement.
The thick curved crystal is most likely synthetic sapphire.
It is free of any blemishes.
The case has only very minor nicks, very difficult to see with the naked eye.
The alligator band is in very good slightly used condition and does not
require in our view a replacement.
It is dark blue in color.
We clean the underside of all leather straps with alcohol prior to
shipping the watch to you.
The deployant buckle is original as well but it is gold plated.
Some plating has rubbed off the top of it, see picture.
We can make a solid gold buckle or deployant for you at an additional charge.
I could not find more information on this model and it’s price when new.
I would venture to say it was at least $5000, probably more.
A Cartier Tank of this size and also running on ETA movement would cost you new over $5000.
