Hamilton Regulus I , Very Rare

Here is a very collectible Hamilton Regulus 1. This model was produced for only one year with a total number made 2400. The production ran from 1959 to 1960. The electric movement cal. 500 is encased in a stainless steel asymmetric case measuring 31.1 mm by 40.2 mm long. The case appears to never have been polished once left the factory. The original white dial has some patina and discoloration as expected for these 50 plus year old watches. The watch is signed 4 times: dial, crown, case back and movement. It has a brand new crystal and running strong on a new battery. It is running a bit slow losing about a minute a day. The performance can be improved with a service but I would not bother unless the user intends to use it on a daily basis, which most collectors would not. The watch has a hack feature by which the movement can be stopped and the battery life extended by pulling the crown to time setting position.
